My pets are such an important part of my life, and it all started with one little stray kitten.

Kitty-Sama - I was living in Japan when this little orange guy adopted me as I walked past a department store headed home late one night. I named him Kitty-Sama. The kitty part of the name is obvious, but the "sama" part was added because it is super-honorific in Japanese, and I could see that he would deserve this title as "the boss" when he let me know that my futon was actually his futon, and he would be there anytime he wanted to be there, whether I was on it or not. He had such a long journey getting back to the States with me, about 24+ hours start to finish, and even when we got back, it was just a few weeks before our 3-day car trip to our new home.

Inky - We arrived at our new home, and Kitty-Sama seemed to adapt well, but he also seemed lonely, so we headed to the Humane Society to find him a kitten-brother. One of the most cuddly cats was a black cat that purred away in my arms when I held him. We named him Inky because he was black, and we later found out that this was a good choice because he has developed an obsession for pens (also straws, chopsticks or anything else that shape). When we brought him home all of those cuddles he displayed at the shelter disappeared and he didn't really want to be held. After some introduction time, the two kitties became good friends. Inky has started to loosen up a little and will sometimes let you hold him if the mood is right. He just needed to feel safe, and he is finally starting to.

Now for pictures of my little guys. For my comments on each of these, just slide your cursor over the picture and you will get the story (well, for now this works only if you have IE).

2 kitties and a box are more entertaining than prime time TV.

This would be reason number one why I'd like to be a cat with a good home in my next life. Reason number two is

below.

Definitely one of my favorite pictures, and the one that made Kitty-Sama famous. This picture was displayed in

the window of the photoshop at the mall for months.

Kitty-Sama and Inky seem to get along well and can often be found sleeping on the bed, or at least before Bonzer

came on the scene who also likes the bed. The kitties won't get on it if he is there. Well, they used to be happy that way,

anyway!

Just a silly little picture of Inky with his tongue out.

This would be reason number 2 why I want to be a cat in my next life, just being silly, rolling around and

stretching on my back reaching for a pen. Not a bad way to go through life.

And, so, there you have it on my little pets. Like Bob Barker from the Price Is Right always says, please do have your pets spayed and neutered. All of my pets were once unwanted, and responsible pet owners can make a difference. Please also visit the ASPCA® website and the The Humane Society of the United States Home Page.
